We now have the opportunity to upgrade the metalmouth extension!
In order to ensure that any upgrade is in line with what our current users use, need or don't need we need to ask for their feedback.
So, our initial step will be to include a 'report issue' function and a 'request feature' function in the metalmouth interface - to make it as simple as possible to listen to our users.
We are also wanting to apply more rigorous testing to the off-screen model and control functions. So, acceptance tests will now be documented in Gherkin, and automated through a new 'metalmouth driver' external app. This will also enable regression testing.
It would be great if you brought some closure to this blog in a post explaining what you accomplished in 2014 and why you've done nothing since on this project, and _especially_ if this project is closed or not. Ideally, you'd post that info everywhere, but if not, at least please post it here so that people who seek it out a bit can find it. Thanks for your consideration!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the note. In response to you email, I simply moved from this project to another one with more pressing needs. Since 2014, I have intended many many times to come back to metalmouth to push things forward, but sadly have just not had the opportunity. The project is not closed, as such, simply dormant. However, even dormant, I hope it continues to serve as a useful example to people looking to build similar projects.
